From Philippians 4:8f not only is our thinking put to the challenge, but it is in connection with our doing that Paul concludes "and the God of peace shall be with you." Maybe you have thought about a lot of things that are good, for example, a daily bible reading schedule or a family devotion time each week. However, how many of these noble thoughts have become reality? This is the test of true fellowship with God -- do you act out the noble things you think about? James writes, that a hearer and not a doer merely deludes himself in regards to genuine God-approved religion. |
